LOS ANGELES—Multi-platinum, Grammy-winning recording artist Drake name checks two of adult’s most renowned companies—Evil Angel and Vivid Entertainment—in the track “Final Fantasy” on new album “Scorpion,” released at midnight Thursday.
In one of the verses of “Final Fantasy,” the rap/R&B singer rhymes “I need it nasty like, like Evil Angel, like Vivid / You know, nasty like how they give it.”
“Scorpion” is currently the top trending topic on all social media platforms, and right now Drake has four of the top 15 tracks on Billboard’s Hot 100 pop chart and seven of the top 25 on its R&B/Hip-Hop chart, ensuring that his tribute to the two porn giants will be heard by millions over the coming months.
For Evil Angel’s part, VP of product Chris Gentile commented, “We’re thrilled to have Drake’s endorsement of Evil Angel reaching so many people. And we’re going to capitalize on it: We plan to bring a bunch of Evil Angel porn stars to Drake’s Los Angeles show this coming October.”
Noted sociologist and sex researcher Dr. Chauntelle Tibbals was delighted in her own right by the nod, texting the studio this morning, “I was delighted to hear Drake’s respect given to Evil Angel in ‘Final Fantasy.’ Not only is it refreshing to hear very public acknowledgment of adult consumption, it’s great to know that such a highly respected cultural voice has such discerning taste.”
Added Gentile, “Drake proves again that he’s the only rapper as good as Kendrick Lamar.”
A representative from Vivid Entertainment could not be reached for comment by post time.
“Final Fantasy,” produced by Boi-1da, Jahaan Sweet and Noah “40” Shebib, is available to stream now via Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes and Tidal.
