The investigation into alleged collusion between Donald Trump and Russia has already turned up links to the world of sex work and the adult industry. There’s the infamous “pee tape” episode in which—allegedly—Trump hired sex workers to perform a “golden shower” show for him in a Moscow luxury hotel suite.
And the Stormy Daniels case also yielded a link to Russian when it was revealed earlier this year that Trump’s personal “fixer” Michael Cohn had received a mysterious half-million dollar payment from a Russian oligarch into the same bank account that he used to funnel $130,000 in hush money to Daniels.
Now, there appears to be a new link between the sex industry and the Trump-Russia investigation. On Friday, 43-year-old Kristin Davis was scheduled to testify to a grand jury in the investigation run by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, according to CNN.
Davis is better known as the “Manhattan Madam,” the operator of a prostitution business in the 2000s that, she says, catered to New York City’s elite, including former Governor Elliot Spitzer, who was f****d to resign in 2008 over his use of high-priced escorts, though Spitzer has denied that he hired sex workers from the Manhattan Madam’s operation.
Davis also claimed that New York Yankees baseball star Alex Rodriguez was among her operation’s clients, and that she found “A-Rod” so attractive that she once dated him herself—at no charge.
But Davis, who has served prison time in connection with the prostitution ring as well for drug offenses, is also an associate of Roger Stone, Trump’s longtime friend and political adviser. Stone appears to be a central figure in the Russia investigation, having by his own admission been in direct communication with a supposed hacker known as “Guccifer 2.0” who took credit for hacking Democratic Party email servers, as well as Hillary Clinton campaign servers and stealing thousands of emails that were later posted online.
But in indictments handed down last month, Mueller charged that “Guccifer 2.0” was actually a fictitious persona created by a group of Russian intelligence officers who were, in reality, responsible for the email hacks.
Davis has said that she was Stone’s “scheduler” and denied that she worked for him during the 2016 presidential campaign, according to CNBC.
Stone himself has praised Davis as “a brilliant woman who has paid her debt to society.” The former Madam “has helped me build some websites,” Stone said, according to Politico.
But the purpose of Davis’s testimony to Mueller’s grand jury remains a mystery, and grand jury testimony remains under seal by law.
“She knows of no Russian collusion,” Stone claimed in a Wednesday interview. “She’s going to talk to the prosecutors voluntarily. She’s not looking for a media circus in her life.”
