have always regarded myself as an abstract engineer. I have long been fascinated with the wheels on the gears that move this great machine we call life. There are so many faculties and echelons to be observed; be it under the scope of: socio- economic, ethnographic, or sexual relevance. My work is a reflection of my ideology which is fostered by a great inner thirst to understand WHY things are the way they are.

Being a self-confessed libertine and lover of life, it is hard not to be affected by life’s dichotomy of good and bad.  The aim is to affect what I can change and find serenity in that which I cannot.  With photography as a vessel, I have channeled this energy into understanding the world around me. The camera forces you to see life as matter, and often those things are not what you would like to see.

Yet, I do not consider myself a photojournalist or fashion photographer. These terms are far too narrowly tailored and restricting. I consider myself an artist and in so thinking, can find and create beauty in any circumstance. I am not interested in capturing pictures or merely snapping away at models posing or soldiers marching. There is an intent in all my work, very stilted and contrived. Though the aim is to create a dialogue with the viewer, there is certainly a cognitive process that leads to what will be discussed in this space.
